Gays who wear feathers, flock together, we guess! That’ll probably explain why every Gay-lister was in town to watch Adam Lambert strut his stuff at his New York gig this week!
But it was the shot of gorgeous Adam getting up close and personal with a certain Sam Smith after the show that had gay lips flapping, speculating that the boys were more than just friends!
Handsome Adam further fanned the flames by teasingly referring to Sam as ‘camera shy’ in his post on Instagram. While some news sites think this means Sam’s merely shy about being caught in a romantic ‘clinch’ with the American Idol runner up, we actually reckon it’s because he’s taken a step away from social media after his online battle last week with Dustin Lance Black.
Of course never let the truth get in the way of good gossip and most news hounds totally ignored the fact that Adam was pictured hanging with other stars too at the gig, including Tyler Oakley! But hey – it’s a good story!
But who knows what’s on the cards? After all, Adam has always been rather fond of Sam, as he revealed in an interview last year:
‘Sam Smith, hats off, he has had an amazing year, he’s a lovely guy. I’ve met him a few times. I’m so happy for him, and I’m so happy his sexuality wasn’t a big thorn in his side,’ Adam said. ‘It was just: ‘This is who I am, I’m cool with it and so you should be too.’ And his songs are timeless and beautiful, and everybody relates to them. He’s doing it right, for sure.’
Asked if there is feeling a fraternity among his fellow gay artists, Lambert added: ‘l think with me and Sam, there’s definitely an understanding there, like: ‘Hey gurl, how you doing?’ [laughs] But you know, there’s only a few of us actually, on a mainstream level. I think we’re building a little clique, I hope, but I haven’t met that many. I mean, Elton John is amazing, what a sweetheart, and Boy George is also incredible. I’ve sat down and had lunch with him before, he’s so smart and has been though A LOT, and now he’s in a really good, healthy space, and loves music and is DJing and is still really connected to pop culture. He was really interesting to talk to.’
Of course this won’t stop gossip mongers from chinwagging, so we’ll have to watch this space!
